How can static charges be prevented in films?

Moving films tend to stick to each other, because friction during rolling and unrolling creates electrostatic charge. A fine release layer of powder, prevents direct contact between the surfaces, stops the tendency to adhere and reduces the glass plate effect. As a result, higher processing speeds are possible.

How do you increase efficiency in thermoforming?

Silicone is used as a release agent to prevent films from sticking to the molds during thermoforming and to make it easier to unstack the finished products during further processing. This is because non-stick additives in the masterbatch usually cloud the material. With the silicone coating, there is no impairment and the processing is optimized.

How can films be given individual features at low cost?

In addition to the packaging market’s requirements for functional material, films also need certain features during the processing stage. A cost-effective alternative to masterbatch admixtures is the spray finishing of functional layers during processing, e.g. Anti-fog. They influence the behavior of the film - production and running properties can be optimized.

Can curling be avoided in the production of laminated films?

After extrusion of composite films, different drying behavior of the components can lead to tensions in the composite. This results in a curling effect - the web curls in. The tension can be reduced by applying moisture to one side.
