Why is remoistening so important in digital printing?
High temperatures during the fixing or drying process remove moisture from the paper. To ensure optimum further processing, the paper must be conditioned to restore the original moisture content.
Why do heavily coated papers need special treatment?
Ink that has not dried completely marks and smears easily on heavily coated materials. By applying a fine protective layer, it is still possible to work at a high printing speed.
Does separating powder also help with digital printing?
Compared to conventional printing processes, digital printing is catching up in terms of speed, color brilliance and quality. Intense, highly pigmented inks on glossy papers require longer drying times that cannot be matched with steadily increasing printing speeds. A release or protective layer of powder gives the ink the necessary time to dry.
