THE TASK

HIGHER PRODUCTIVITY THROUGH LESS WASTE

To ensure trouble-free production, the edges of knitted fabrics, which tend to curl, must be stripped without creases and with constant tension. No marks must be visible on the fabric. Another challenge is to stabilize the edges with a glue application. The glue must be applied at a minimum distance from the fabric edge to prevent excessive trimming or the fabric edge curling up again or the cut being made next to the glue if the glue is applied too far away. The needle chain must not be soiled by glue.

Fabric edges must be guided gently, smoothly and without distortion, with low surface friction and in a direct line into the following unit.

The WEKO-Spread-it reliably spreads the web without creases, e.g. at the infeed of the stenter frame, thus ensuring trouble-free running under constant tension. WEKO-Glue-it glues the edges reliably and thus ensures a loss-free cut. With these systems, users achieve maximum efficiency in their work processes.
