Individual film properties through the application of fluids
Functionalization of film surfaces expands your product range and offers a high savings potential. Films are given the desired surface functions cost-effectively and precisely.
HIGHER FLEXIBILITY AND LOWER COSTS - HOW DOES THIS WORK ?
WEKO fluid application systems (WFA) enable the application of a uniform, functional coating to the film surface.
The coating is fully functional immediately after application. Transparency and surface quality of the films are improved compared to batch additives. The quality of the recycled film material is higher.
The possibility to apply different functionalities per side offers new innovations and maximum flexibility of your products.
Advantages at a glance:
Precise, minimal and repeatable application quantities
Resource-saving due to minimal consumption
Contact-free application of the emulsion
Wide application spectrum for high flexibility
No wear or job-related exchange parts
High flexibility - application on one or both sides possible
Intuitive, easy operation
The functional fluids for coating are precisely metered with the WEKO-FLOW and sprayed on via the rotor carrier WEKO-SIGMA without contact.
Minimum required application quantities can be applied with repeatable accuracy and speed-adjusted, on one or both sides.
A smoothing roller is used for fluids that require a homogeneous functional layer covering the entire surface.
With the encapsulated application unit WEKO-ProTec emerging pollutants, aerosols and fragrances can be extracted directly.
The complete solution WEKO-CoatingTower consists of a space-saving base frame with the application units. A dryer unit is mounted on top of it.

„Sustainable protection of our everyday needs“
Aligned with the realization of the vision: “Sustainable protection of our everyday needs,” KP is a leading global supplier of rigid and flexible packaging and specialty film solutions for pharmaceutical and medical devices, food, beverages, and cards.
Since 2009, WEKO’s silicone spray-on process has been successfully used at various Klöckner Pentaplast facilities. The system is used in the production of PET films made from 100% recycled material, which are then further processed into thermoformed trays. When spraying on the silicone/water mixture, the primary aim is to denest the trays (anti-blocking).
