release agent for Digital printing

Powder as a release and protective layer

Digital printing is characterized by permanent innovations. Increasing printing speeds and a constant expansion of usable substrates lead to problems that have been known for a long time from conventional printing processes. High and intensive ink applications do not dry quickly enough. This leads to unwanted ink deposits on the opposite paper surface (laydown), as well as partial adhesion, the so-called “set off”.

Sometimes distance is just needed .

The paper and ink surfaces are separated from each other by the contact-free application of an ultra-fine powder coating. This prevents the colors from sticking together. Ink surfaces that are not completely dry (can) will dry out in peace due to the air cushion that is created. The amount applied is in the range of a few milligrams per m² and is neither haptically nor visually noticeable on the printed stock.

With the powder application systems WEKO-AP and the capped system WEKO-ESC, very small quantities of powder particles are applied to the printed surface in an extremely fine manner.

Advantages at a glance:

  • Faster printing speed

  • Higher product quality

  • Reliable, trouble-free finishing

  • Reduced static charges

  • Precise, minimal and repeatable application quantities

  • Resource-saving due to minimal consumption

  • Automatic adjustment to print speed

  • Intuitive, easy operation

Increase your product quality and production speed by using the WEKO-AP-Systems already proven in offset printing.

The WEKO-ESC additionally offers the advantages of an encapsulated system with suction, machine contamination and environmental pollution are reduced to a minimum here.
